If you like dense pogacas, go all the way and add 3 cups; however, if you like soft pogacas, add 2 1/2 cups. the ideal is that the dough is a bit soft that you cannot easily shape it in your hands. Great photos. You prepare REAL food-not just fancily decorated cakes and cupcakes. For this recipe, how does one know how much flour to put in? I'm not good at preparing dough so I want to know what consistency to look for.Thank you.ZeynebAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32011247.post-62776283023905870112012-09-11T12:15:51.476-07:002012-09-11T12:15:51.476-07:00Dear Lizzy, there are two different pogacas: one w...Dear Lizzy, there are two different pogacas: one with yeast and one without yeast. The yeasty pogacas tend to be really soft when baked whereas the non-yeasty ones are a bit crunchier and melt in your mouth, but not soft. So, these one are non-yeasty and it's normal that they're not soft. I really love your blog =) you got some...Hi Burcu,

I really love your blog =) you got some great Turkish recipes on here. My hubby is from Turkey and he's always craving these types of food. So as an American, I'm very grateful for your recipes! So easy to make and so tasty. So far every recipe I have made from this site he has liked very much, including this one.
I made this recipe but I didn't have any olives so I didn't use them, I used regular sesame seeds and I didn't have any dill so I substituted 1 tsp dry mint(another great spice to use in Turkish recipes).
These came out great! Tasted just like real cheese pogaca (and was much easier to make) ;)
The only thing I would recommend would be, like Melis said, to use a little less oil (cause then you can't eat too many you'll get stuffed too fast).
After I made these I got a great idea...
I think another variation of the pogaca that would be great would be to omit the olives and to substitute a sharp Cheddar cheese instead of the Feta. By doing it like this I think these would come out exactly like the Cheddar Bay Biscuits at Red Lobster! When I made them they did remind me of them a little. If anybody gets to try making the pogaca this way lemme know how they turned out =)

Thanks again,
Michelle LynnMichelle Lynnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04901966141257524750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32011247.post-87435705168984323872010-12-05T11:54:41.329-08:002010-12-05T11:54:41.329-08:00Hi Burcu,
