I corrected the instructions. And I think the reason why the top ones didn't cook as well was that the lid wasn't on--I am sorry for the misunderstanding, but happy to hear that it was a successful try. This way you ensure that when dolmas cook and they won't burst.
2. There are many ways but you might try to make a ring with your thumb and index finger and place the flower in the ring, the mouth of the flower facing up and rest of your fingers supporting it from underneath.
3. Yes; the rice is half way cooked before stuffing. It will be fully cooked after the whole process.Burcuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03291775178560434313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32011247.post-45606543178832067692014-03-28T13:49:55.923-07:002014-03-28T13:49:55.923-07:00Hi Burcu,
Now after the dish was ready and eaten ...Hi Burcu,

Now after the dish was ready and eaten I can say that it was a big success. One thing only that wasn't clear to me and may have affected the dish; in the final stage of putting the stuffed flowers in a pot you wrote about putting a plate on top of the flowers.
1. In addition to the plate, should the pot be covered or just with the plate?
2. 20 flowers don't fit in 1 level, so the ones on top don't cook as well as the ones on the bottom. But I didn't cover the pot, I only used the plate.
Can you advise on this matter too?

Thank you so much! I am planning to try more of your recipes!

HadasHadashttp://www.hadasruso.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32011247.post-17994809876152117892014-03-28T09:10:32.213-07:002014-03-28T09:10:32.213-07:00Hi Burcu,
I just prepared this for the first time...Hi Burcu,

I just prepared this for the first time. It is in the final stage of cooking in a pot with a plate on top.

I have a couple of questions:
1. How much rice should I have put in each flower? I was left with 2 flowers (out of 20) that had no rice to be put in..also just after stuffing the flowers with the rice I realized that the rice will cook more and get bigger, which might tear the flowers. Can you advise?
2. The rice after the cooking per your instructions (before stuffing the flowers) was not fully cooked. It absorbed the water but was half cooked. I know I will find out if that was OK once the flowers will finish cooking but is that the way it is supposed to be?
3. Final question - how do you hold the flower with the leaves open in order to fill it with rice, and at the same time not tear the leaves?

Thank you for this recipe! I will update once it is ready and eaten :)

HadasHadashttp://www.hadasruso.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32011247.post-63519257053448329962014-03-21T11:52:45.781-07:002014-03-21T11:52:45.781-07:00where are you from
